my love of Frome

I love our home town but it’s not a patch on Frome, I’ve got a real thing for it.

We tend to go for a wander round every couple of months and I just love an afternoon there. If you like vintage emporiums and well stocked charity shops then you need seriously need to pay Frome a visit. It’s 10 miles or so from Bath too so if you’re heading that way make sure you stop by.

Here’s some snaps of some of the totally gorgeous shops and streets to get you inspired…

Catherine Hill | an absolute gold mine for vintage finds
so much love for the stacks of treasures
galvanised heaven | ideal for filling up a patio or courtyard garden

amazing snippets of a bygone era

a whole shop dedicated to second hand quality clothing (with old furniture)… so good.

Whether you’re looking for vintage clothes, furniture or decorative items you’re guaranteed to find something you fall in love with. Our parking ticket always prompts us to leave but I could honestly spend a whole day strolling round the shops, there’s just so much to see. There’s also heaps of delicious eateries to people watch from so try and grab something to eat whilst you’re in town.

If possible try and encorporate your visit for the first Sunday of the month so you can visit The Frome Independent market. Thousands of people flock to the town for the amazing street food, huge vintage market and live music and it’s really not to be missed.

Let me know if you’ve got any favourite haunts in Frome, I’d love to know your tips!

  1. Dear apothecary, I would really like to read your posts and have subscribed. However, although I am receiving the emails all I get when I try to open the wordpress is a blank page. I am using an apple mac computer. Is there a general problem for mac users or am I doing something really stupid? I’m sorry to bother you but I live in East Devon and am really interested in your travels. Many thanks, Claire Braven

    1. Hi Claire, thanks for your message and I’m really sorry to hear you can’t see the posts! I’m not aware of any issues currently. I’ve viewed the blog on my iPhone and iPad and they are displaying as they should be. Do you have a different device you could view the blog on at all? I’ll refresh some of my most recent blogs in the hope that clears down any issues. I hope that we can get to the bottom of this, thanks for letting me know.
      Many thanks,
      Amalia
